Home Visit Vet

UK

Location: Urban areas across the UK

If you could design your ideal veterinary career wouldn’t you want to:

  • Be your own boss, but still be part of a supportive community?

  • Choose your own working hours?

  • Give your clients more time and attention?

  • Have great earning potential?

  • Not have to worry about all the business, back-office stuff?

We are looking for veterinary surgeons that are interested in kicking off a new kind of veterinary career in 2017.

PawSquad is a community of home visit vets working across the UK to give pets and owners a better veterinary experience. We started the company because we were convinced that pets and owners deserved longer appointment times, to be seen in the comfort of their home (where we can do all routine care), and the best possible technology to support ongoing communication and health monitoring.

In just three years, we've launched the UK's first online consultation service, manned by our 25 online vets, and the UK's first dedicated home visit practice - delivered by our home visit vets in 11 markets.

Our home visit vets are supported in every aspect of their role - PawSquad provides the technology platform to power their business, all the marketing support and budget to develop a roster of clients, clinical guidance and support from our senior vets and a family of other vets out there doing the same thing in other cities. They work with local partner practices for surgeries and advanced diagnostics, and are building relationships with lots of local pet businesses to ensure their clients are looked after in all possible ways.

We're always developing, and thinking of new ways to make PawSquad work better for vets, owners and pets. So if you want to join a forward-thinking, different type of practice - get in touch and we'll answer your questions and arrange for you to speak to our vets.

We are currently recruiting for vets in urban areas across the UK. We have a specific interest in Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Glasgow - but if you're elsewhere and feel PawSquad would be great for your area, please do get in touch and tell us about it.

Key Information:

  • We need you to have minimum 2 years experience in practice and be RCVS registered
  • You can work full time or part time - to suit your lifestyle
  • If you work full time, your earnings are likely to be around £60,000 a year (when you're full up)
  • You will need to pay a low startup cost to set up your practice

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: What can you actually do in a home visit? A lot more than you think! Our vets do everything from routine vaccinations to managing complex medical cases in an environment that is comfortable and familiar.
  • Q: I like doing surgery - do I have to give that up? A: You don't, we can arrange for you to do some of your own surgeries at the local partner practice.
  • Q: I worry about leaving my secure job at the practice, is this really risky? A: Most vets join us because they're really tired of the stressful work in practice. With us, you do start your own business - but it's really supported on all fronts by us, at no point are you alone. We bring experienced marketers to bear on bringing you clients, give you all the clinical support you need, and even give you business training should you need it. Plus - your fellow vets are on hand all the time, and as eager as you to have support and company on the journey.
